Coby is designed with the intention to raise awareness around the carbon footprint of regular food items in supermarkets. It is intended as an educational prop for school children.
Coby eats your shopping receipts, calculates the sum of the carbon emissions of each product and produce a long burp- if the CO2 footprint is large or a short one if the footprint is small. Long term, it can grow sadder or stay happy depending on the CO2 footprints of your shopping history.
This was a 4 week project in response to a design brief set by Intel Collaborative Research Institute. The project was selected and featured in the Intel tent at the TechMix Digital Summer Camp 2014, London.
